The short version
- Your move plan and condition-report photos are saved in your own browser. If you choose email sign-in, we also save your email address and a copy of your plan so it can follow you across devices; photos remain only in your browser.
- When you ask Wyze a question or refresh deals, the details needed to answer are sent to our server, and Wyze questions also go to our AI provider.
- If you sign up for price-drop emails, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe.
- We may count clicks on product links as anonymous daily totals for each product. Those counts contain no IP address, account, cookie, session or referrer information.
- We don't sell your personal information and we don't run ads.
Who we are
MoveCents (movecents.com) is an independent, U.S.-based move-planning website. Questions about this policy: hello@movecents.com.
What stays on your device
Everything you enter to build your plan (your first name, move date, home type, budget, items, tasks, saved deals and price targets) is stored in your browser's local storage. Condition-report checklists are stored the same way, and the photos you add are stored in your browser's IndexedDB. If you stay signed out, the plan stays on that device except when you choose one of the features below. If you sign in, a copy of the plan is also stored on our server so you can use it on other devices. Condition-report photos are not included in account sync.
You can delete browser data at any time with Start a new plan or your browser settings. Signed-in users can delete their account from Settings; that removes the account, sessions, saved plan, sign-in links and price watches associated with the address.
What we receive, and why

Service providers we use
- Cloudflare hosts the site and our server, and processes the request information above.
- Anthropic generates Wyze answers from your question and plan summary. It processes that data to provide the service to us.
- Resend sends confirmation and price-drop emails.
- Price-data providers (such as SerpApi and retailer affiliate networks like Impact) receive product search terms from our catalog. They never receive your personal information.
Retailer and affiliate links
When you open a product link, you leave MoveCents and the retailer's privacy policy applies. Some links are affiliate links: the retailer or its affiliate network, such as Impact or Amazon Associates, may set cookies to record that you came from MoveCents. We receive reports of commissions earned, not your identity or what else you bought. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Cookies and tracking
MoveCents doesn't set advertising cookies. We use local storage and IndexedDB to save your plan and photos, and signed-in sessions use a secure, HttpOnly cookie. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures visits and site performance without identifying individual visitors or building advertising profiles. Product-link clicks may be counted as anonymous daily totals by product and link type (direct or affiliate); no cookie or identifier is used for this.
How long we keep data
- Price-alert email addresses: kept until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribing deletes the address. Sign-ups that are never confirmed are deleted after 7 days.
- Accounts and synced plans: kept until you delete the account. One-time sign-in links expire after 15 minutes, sessions expire after 30 days, and account deletion removes the account data described above.
- Abuse-prevention counters: we keep a scrambled, one-way (hashed) version of your IP address with daily request counts for 7 days, to stop anyone from overloading the assistant or sign-ups. We don't store the IP address itself.
- Product-link click totals: daily counts by product and link type, deleted after 90 days.
- Server logs at Cloudflare are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
Your choices and rights
You control the data stored in your browser and can delete it at any time. Signed-in users can delete their account in Settings. To stop price-drop emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email. To ask about, correct or delete anything we hold, email hello@movecents.com. We'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado or Virginia), you may have additional rights to access, correct or delete personal information. We honor those requests for everyone.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for targeted (cross-context behavioral) advertising.
Children
MoveCents is meant for adults planning a move and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS with strict security headers. API keys stay on our server, and email addresses are stored in a database only our service can access. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date above. For significant changes that affect price-alert subscribers, we'll also email them.
