Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of MoveCents at movecents.com (the "Service"), operated by MoveCents ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

What MoveCents does

MoveCents helps you plan a move: a timeline, an item and budget list, deal suggestions, price alerts, an AI assistant called Wyze, and a move-in condition report. It's a planning tool. We don't sell products, and we're not a moving company, landlord, real-estate broker or financial advisor.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Service.

Prices and deals

• Prices, discounts, ratings and availability come from retailers and data providers. They change often and may be out of date or wrong by the time you see them. Prices labeled as demo or catalog prices are examples and aren't verified in real time.
• The retailer's website is the final word on price, shipping, stock and return policy. Always check it before you buy.
• Purchases happen on the retailer's site under the retailer's terms. We aren't a party to them and can't handle orders, refunds or returns.

Wyze, the AI assistant

Wyze's answers are generated by an AI model and can be incomplete or wrong. They're general suggestions, not professional, legal, financial or safety advice. For cleaning products, electrical work, heavy furniture and anything involving safety, follow the manufacturer's instructions and local rules.

The condition report

The condition report helps you record the state of your home at move-in. It isn't legal advice, and we don't guarantee any outcome in a dispute with a landlord. Security-deposit rules and deadlines differ by state and lease, so check your lease and local law, and send the report to your landlord yourself. You're responsible for what you record and share.

Your content

Your plan, notes and photos are yours. Most of it stays on your device (see our Privacy Policy). Keep your own copies: we can't restore data cleared from your browser. By using a feature that sends data to our server, such as Wyze or price alerts, you let us process that data to provide the feature.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Service. For example, don't:

• overload or attack it
• scrape it or get around its usage limits
• use it to send spam or sign other people up for emails
• submit unlawful content
• use the AI assistant to try to cause harm

We may limit or block access that breaks these terms.

Our content

The MoveCents name, logo, design and software belong to us. You may use the Service for your own personal move planning. You may not copy or resell it.

Third-party sites and services

The Service links to retailers and other sites we don't control, and relies on providers such as Cloudflare, Anthropic and email services. We're not responsible for their content, products or practices.

Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. THIS INCLUDES WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS.

Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE WON'T BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. THIS INCLUDES LOST MONEY, SAVINGS OR DATA, AND LOST SECURITY DEPOSITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Changes and ending use

We may change or stop the Service, or update these terms. We'll post changes here with a new date. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the new terms. You can stop using it at any time.
